Javi De La Rosa Sánchez

„I am Javier de la Rosa. I was born in Madrid where I studied degrees in both philosophy and contemporary dance, before moving to Berlin in 2018. I use Yoga as a tool to help develop my philosophic, physical and artistic practice. Through yoga I can look inwards to visualize myself, and express through action. I share Yoga through teaching as a pathway to learn, move and self-reflect. I am a qualified Hatha Yoga Teacher Level-1 certified by a1000yoga Academy.

During my sessions, I fix a sequence of postures/asanas according to the student’s need to breathe, to look inwards, to stimulate their energy, to meditate calmly and awaken. The purpose of the class is for the development of physical and mental health, through sweating, stretching, massaging and stimulating the energetic channels and internal organs.

I always aim to remind my students that there is not a proper or perfect asana. During my yoga lessons, the intention that you put on the mat is the most important thing. Yoga is a not ending process but an ongoing trip of trying, learning and transformation.“

“The gross form of the mind is the body and the subtle form of the body is the mind. The practice of asana integrates and harmonizes the two. Both the body and the mind harbour tensions or knots. Every mental knot has a corresponding physical, muscular knot and vice versa. The aim of the asana is to release these knots.” - Swami Satyananda Saraswati
