Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga Workshop with Marta Bylicka
Ashtanga Yoga is a system of Yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. The method involves synchronizing the breath with movement through a sequence of postures. The practice produces internal heat which helps detoxify the whole body.
The workshop will introduce core Ashtanga principles, namely the breath, the gaze of the eyes as well as the internal alignment of the posture, and give you tools to transform your Yoga practice into a moving meditation.
You will be taken on a journey deep into the subtleties of alignment, discovering new ways to adapt the poses to your body and building both strength and flexibility to support a life-long practice.
Over the course of many years, Marta's practice has grown to encompass much more than just time on the mat: it has seeped into every facet of her inner and outer life and has been a catalyst for transformation, leading to a more balanced and peaceful life.
Marta highly values the insights and experiential knowledge gained through a dedicated daily practice of Ashtanga and the importance of developing a gentle approach toward oneself and others. As a teacher and practitioner, she recognises the value of the teacher-student relationship and the yoga community for support in firmly establishing one's practice. She aspires to help others grow on the path of yoga and beyond.
